Laquan Battle, how was your junior season?

Though my Junior season wasn’t the best, due to me being out for the whole season because of an injury I got during the last game of the Covid season, I really enjoyed seeing my teammates grow after and during each game.

What does football mean to you?

Football to me is an escape from reality, every time I put on my equipment and step on the field I feel like a free spirit, free from restrictions. I also view it as a way out to create a better life for myself and family.

What was your favorite memory from last season?

It’s hard to choose just one memory, because I loved every single moment but one thing, I loved the most was seeing my teammates overcome adversity and constantly reach new heights as they weren’t expected to make it to the playoffs.

What do you feel is your strongest trait on the football field?

I feel like my strongest trait on the field is being able to constantly get my teammates energy going no matter what the situation is and never giving up on a play.

What schools have you talked to so far?

I haven’t talked to any colleges yet.

What part of your game do you plan on working on in the offseason?

I plan on working on my physical strength and adding more depth to my technique.

What would you like college coaches to know about you?

I would like college coaches to know that I’m willing to push myself past my limits in order to benefit the team and that I’m a player who has an open mind and loves to learn new techniques that are presented to me.

What do you like about playing on the defensive line?

I like the opportunity to display my athleticism and strength when playing on the defensive line. Showing that I can not only explode off the ball but have violent hands and good technique.

What goals do you have for yourself this upcoming season?

The biggest goal I have this season is to come back better than I was before and to set an example for the younger players that with hard work and perseverance anything can be achievable.
