Garrett Taylor how was your season? When I think about our season, it didn't turn out the way we would have liked, but unlike the seniors last year, we were blessed to be able to play an entire season so I can't complain. As a team we grew a lot together, and we never gave up. I'm just grateful to have been able to play with my friends and brothers for one last time. What does football mean to you? Football means TEAM to me. It means building trust and an unbreakable bond with every single person on the team. In this sense, Football is like no other sport I've ever played. What should college coaches know about you? Since JFL I have played every position my Coaches have asked me to play and developed my body to fit. For example, Head Coach Pat Ryan, asked me to play with my hand down at DE/TE on the varsity level my Sophomore year. I was up to 230 pounds between my Sophomore and Junior year of high school. During the canceled COVID season, our new head coach, Coach Jared Grebner, asked me to transition to OLB and RB, so I hit the gym hard, cut the "bad" weight, got a lot stronger, and quicker in order to transition successfully to those positions. Bottom line, I will do whatever it takes and play any position asked of me to help the TEAM! What do you feel is your strongest trait on the football field? I feel my strongest trait on defense is reading my assignment and being able to quickly react. On offense I feel my strongest trait is my patience allowing the blocks in front of me to develop when running the ball. What was your one favorite memory of this season?
My favorite memory this past season was an interception I returned 50 yards for a touchdown against the Dunlap Eagles on September 24, 2021 ...WEEK Sports Director, Jim Mattson, even used my Dad's play by play on his weekly Prep Rally segment, "Why I Love High School Sports!" That's a memory that will last a lifetime for our family!
