Tyler Kolzow Limestone DL/OL Class of 2021 6'2 240
Tyler Kolzow how was your 2019 season?
I felt I had a pretty strong season. I started on both sides of the ball and played multiple positions on the o and d line. I was awarded all conference on the defensive side of the ball. I felt I was put in a very good position to grow as a player with the support I received from my coaches and teammates. Getting that kind of experience puts me in an excellent position to be a key leader and player this season.
What should college coaches know about you?
I want them to know that I am a very versatile player and can excel on either side of the ball. I feel I am very self motivated on the field/weight room and even in the classroom. I have a very good attitude and like to lead by example. I always respect my teammates and coaches and consider them my second family. Football is my true passion and I would love to have an opportunity to play at the college level. What do you feel is your strongest trait on the football field? I feel I am a very intelligent player that makes my teammates better when I am on the field. What does football mean to you? Football means everything to me. It’s who I am. I’ve watched football and played since I was 5 years old. I have spent a significant amount of time in my life doing things football related. I truly realized how much I loved football this fall when I was told I was not gonna have a season until the spring. I always look forward to competing in the fall and now that the opportunity is gone, I have realized how much I truly love this game and how much it impacts my life. Through setting and achieving goals in football, I have learned that I can overcome challenges and reach heights that I had not thought possible. This will shape me as I continue to grow because Ive seen that I am stronger than I had ever thought. I will not shy away from future challenges on and off the football field. What do you like about playing in the trenches? I like that it doesn’t really compare to any other place on the football field. Being in the trenches is a grind and it truly separates the men from the boys. I love that I get to be where all of the action and the hard-hitting is. Also the opportunities in the trenches to make a big plays are endless. How does Limestone look for the upcoming season? I think we’re gonna have an awesome season. We only lost a few seniors from last year. Most of our guys are returning starters. We came up short in a lot of our games last year and I firmly believe if a few more things went our way we would’ve had a completely different season. I expect our team to finish games this year and have a record of over 500. We have arguably the best quarterback in the conference in Travis Lutz. Who is set to have a great season. Our team has been working extremely hard this off-season. The great team chemistry and the unity of our guys is really special. It’s going to be a very special season for Limestone Football!
