Jack Baer Glenbard West OL/ATH Class of 2023 6'2 220

Jack Baer how was your junior season?

It was a great experience, and I personally found a lot of success. Our season didn’t end quite how we wanted but we’re committed to bouncing back this year.

What does football mean to you?

Football is so important to me because of the bond I share with my teammates and coaches.

What was your favorite memory from last season?

My favorite memory from last season has to be when we stopped DGN on fourth down, which gave us the win. It was pure smash-mouth football.

What do you feel is your strongest trait on the football field?

My knowledge of our offense as well as our opponents defense gives me a huge advantage because I know exactly what needs to happen every play.

What part of your game do you plan on working on in the offseason?

I’m trying to pack on some pounds and get stronger. I also will be focusing on my footwork once summer comes around.

What would you like college coaches to know about you?

I don’t need athletics to get into college, I want to play for the love of the game.

What goals do you have for yourself this upcoming season?

My only goal is to help lead my team to a state championship.

How does Glenbard West look for the upcoming season?

We’re looking very promising. Much of our offense seems like it will be similar to last year, just bigger, smarter, and stronger. We’re looking to some new guys on defense but I’m confident we have the guys we need to play at an elite level.

What do you like about playing trenches?

I like imposing my will on an opponent and paving the way for my backs.

How has Rugby helped you in your football technique?

Rugby tackling is so useful to use in football so when I’m on the defensive side of the ball I can trust my tackling. It also keeps my cardio up so I can push through the fourth quarter.
