Jonathan Hayes how was your regular season?

My regular season went great. I’m very proud of what my team and I have been able to accomplish this year. I have been able to make a difference on both sides of the ball. We keep improving more and more every week. I’m excited to lead my team with the other captains to another win this Friday. What has been your favorite memory so far this season? My favorite memory is when we competed for a conference championship week 9 against St. Laurence. It was a hard competitive game full of great plays by both sides. Winning that game was the perfect way to send us into playoffs with momentum and confidence. What part of your game do you think you showed growth in this season? My get off and explosiveness definitely improved from last season. Training with Montini alum, Jordan Westerkamp was a game changer. I have been able to get off the ball faster, make more blocks down the field, and chase plays from behind.

How excited are you to start the playoffs? I am very excited to start the playoffs this Friday. As a Junior, I have not been in the playoffs yet. It is a great change of tempo that the whole team has been able to adjust to. What part of your game do you feel you have to work on in the offseason? I think I can always improve everything. However, I think my ability to stay under control while rushing the passer could improve.

What would be your dream school to play for? My dream school to play for is Ohio State. I grew up watching their team compete. They are able to produce great defensive lineman as well.
