This is one of the many reasons why Deep Dish Football is respected in the IHSA. Every Football Player Has A Story To Tell

Kaden Rakers Breese Central RB/ATH Class Of 2025 5'11 175

Kaden Rakers how was your regular season? As a team we had a great regular season, we were expected to not have a good year, a lot of people thought we weren’t going to be over .500, but we knew from the start of the season that we had a special team, we knew that we had some guys that could make a huge impact. After a rough week 1 loss to a good Highland team, we learned a lot and made some major adjustments in which more guys started becoming key contributors on both sides of the ball. Me personally, I’m having a pretty good year, last year I earned the starting spot late in the season, not getting many touches, but this year I made it my goal to become a big part in the offense and help us win as many games as possible. One main reason I’m having a good year is because of our offensive line, we lost all our offensive line from last year and our only returning starter got hurt before the season. I am extremely proud of how hard they have worked and the amount of time they spent to get bigger and stronger in the off season. I would also like to give some credit to our receiving core, in which they have really stepped up by making huge plays and putting their bodies on the line... This year I have rushed for over 100 yards 3 times and have 9 rushing touchdowns and 1 receiving touchdown.

What does football mean to you? Football to me is something that I love and care deeply about, all the way from the game itself to the people within our program. Our football team is another family to me, I really enjoy everyone, and they make playing football a whole lot better. Another reason football is so important to me is because ever since I was little, I wanted to play, and I spent all my extra time working on ways I can get better. Football is also a way to escape from everything else in my life, it relieves all my stress and just lets me zone out of everything that is going on outside of the sport. Another reason I love football is because of the coaching staff at Central, our coaching staff is tremendous, we can joke around with them, and they are willing to help us at any time. My love for the game would not be the same if it weren’t for them. What should college coaches know about you? They should know that I’m always looking to do what’s best for the team, and that I am very hard working. Another thing they should know is that I am a good teammate and always bring them up if they get down on themselves. I pride myself in giving my best 100% of the time and to always make an impact. What do you feel is your strongest trait on the football field? I feel my strongest trait is my ability to make people miss and also be able to be dangerous as a receiver as well as a runner. I also believe I am a pretty good leader for the team, helping people understand coverages and plays.

How excited are you to start the playoffs this weekend? Pretty excited, we have a great thing going right now and I believe if we play like we know we can we are a really dangerous team and could go pretty far in playoffs. Who on Bresse Central is having a breakout season? There are a lot of guys who have really broken out this year, Preston Baker has really stepped up and have been playing really well for us. Another guy is Griffin Becker, he has really made a huge impact for us, going up and getting balls and giving us that momentum, we need. 2 other receivers are Carter Dein and Anthony Attaway, they both have helped in in really close games and will make tough catches to keep our offense rolling. Also, Cole Davis has stepped up at the running back position as well.

Who is the funniest player on the Breese Central squad? Oh, that’s pretty close, there are a lot of guys who can make everyone laugh and make our time together even better, but the funniest will probably be between Noah Koch, Griffin Becker or Owen Shoemaker.
