CJ Campos Lemont Linebacker Class of 2023 6'4 215

CJ Campos how was your 2019 season? My 2019 season provided a great experience for myself and the rest of my teammates. It allowed us to build some great chemistry that will help us in the future when we get all of our guys on the Varsity level. We were able to establish an understanding of each of our strengths and weaknesses so we know what to build off of. Personally, I was thrilled to be able to prove myself as a competitor and leader as a linebacker. What should college coaches know about you? I’m an extremely hard worker with a passion for the game. I work every day to better myself and improve in areas of weakness. I’m also a straight-A student with a 4.3 GPA. I strive to put myself ahead of everyone else whenever I can. I’m coachable and I also try to be the best teammate I can be. What does football mean to you? Football has been a family tradition ever since my grandpa was an All-American in high school. My dad and my brother are both tremendous athletes, both playing division 1 ball at big schools, so naturally I want to go down the same path. Football has changed my whole lifestyle in the way that I try to focus on bettering myself everyday. I love the camaraderie and the struggles that my teammates and I have to go through, it brings us together and it’s a great experience overall. I love the sport and I’d do anything to keep playing it. What do you feel is your strongest trait on the football field? I believe that my strongest traits on the field are my competitiveness and the ability to lead others. As I’ve said before, I strive to separate myself from the pack, and this has allowed me to gain a lot of experience in leading my teammates. I love being able to compete against other top-level athletes. What do you like about playing on the defense? Defense allows me to display all of the strength and speed that I’ve worked to build up outside of the field. I love being able to get on the field with an aggressive mental and physical approach. My love for the defensive side of the ball has been strengthened exponentially by my coaches; especially my defensive coordinator, Coach Willie Hayes. I’ve been taught the inside and out of how defense is played, especially as an outside linebacker. Plus it’s always exciting when we get a sack or a pick six; it brings our team together which allows us to play even better.
