Nick Latino how was your 2019 season?
My season was great, we went 9-0 in conference and won some tough games in the playoffs. We lost to a very talented St. Rita team in the state semifinals. Me personally, I think I did good, I made some plays to help the team win and did whatever the team needed me to do. I think everyone at Boylan is more about the brotherhood rather than personal success, I think that’s why we are so successful.
What does football mean to you?
To me football is my identity. It’s so much more than a game to me and so many other players. This game is an outlet to kids who might not have the best home life or struggle with anxiety or depression. Also, the family feeling of a team means so much. A nice friday night, stadium is packed and you are next to your brother in the huddle. It doesn’t get much better than that.
What part of your game have you been working on in the offseason?
This offseason, I’ve been working on getting faster. That’s one thing I think I lack is elite speed. I’ve been working hard to get faster so hopefully that will pay off whenever we play.
What should college coaches know about you?
I think college coaches should know that I’m a hard worker. I will play whatever position they need me to play and I am a team player. Boylan has taught me a lot about putting the team before myself so I think that trait can follow me into college.
How does Boylan look for 2021? We are looking great. We have to replace a lot of talent in the secondary defensively but I think our coaches are doing a good job finding those guys. Our offensive line is basically all returning and our backfield has a lot of experience. I think we will win a lot of games.
