Introducing Freeport Linebacker Dawson Holland Class Of 2024

So, in a way to better understand the use of Deep Dish Football for Illinois recruits and the whole entire IHSA Football scene. Decided to do player profiles of players who you might not know or you might know, but you should respect them for their roles on their respective teams. This is one of the many reasons why Deep Dish Football is respected in the IHSA. Every Football Player Has A Story To Tell

Dawson Holland Freeport Linebacker Class of 2024 5'10 185

Dawson Holland how was your sophomore season? It was I’d say by far one of the best season, I’ve had in my career of football. What was one of your favorite memories last season? Being with my teammates honestly. Being at practice supporting each other. never losing hope, nor ever giving up on another. Pushing each other to the fullest potential, and that’s a memory you can’t forget What should college coaches know about you? I’m not perfect. mistakes may happen and will happen. I may fall down, I may not. but this sport is not a sport to me. It’s something so much bigger, and I’m willing to do whatever in my power to use my skill and put it towards our team. To bring out the best in all. What excites you most about this upcoming season? The team I’ll be playing it for. just in summer camp I’ve seen the potential this Freeport team has this year, but what most excites me as an individual player. I'm looking forward to making it to the playoffs. and in all honesty just to tackle and hit someone. This family just has so much talent and skill. I just can’t wait to see it on the field. What do you feel is your strongest trait on the football field? Being able to communicate, off and on the field. Leading a defense! just being a leader. not being to key on myself. Also helping others fix their mistakes What goals do you have for yourself this season? First of all, to not miss so many tackles as i did sophomore year. I could’ve led the NIC10 in tackles if it was not for my head being down and taking myself out of the play. So, I really want to work on that as well as being the best possible MIKE linebacker

What game are you most looking forward to this season? Belvidere North our first game. Since it was our last game of the year last year and we were so close to pulling the game away. My teammates and I are ready to claim what’s ours and if not the best in the NIC10 we’re going to be trouble.
