Joe Pettit Geneva OL/DT Class Of 2025 5'11 215
Joe Pettit how was your sophomore season? It was a great experience, we made it to the playoffs, and I was able to contribute on both sides of the ball at Offensive Guard and Defensive Tackle/Nose. What does football mean to you? It’s a lot more than a game to me, I love the physicality, but I enjoy leading and being a part of my team more. I wouldn’t want to play with any other group of guys, we have something special going.
How was your wrestling season? I earned all-conference and qualified for state. Wrestling got me in great shape and my hands and feet are quicker from it. What should college coaches know about you? I’m willing to do what it takes to get onto the field and help out my team as much as possible. My toughness and conditioning are a few of my best attributes. What do you like about playing in the trenches? How physical and tough you have to be. One of my favorite parts of football is pulling and lead blocking. What does it mean to you to be a three-sport athlete? I do three sports because I love competing and training. I have 0 offseason and I love it that way.
How does Geneva football look for the upcoming season?
We had a great season last year with a very young team. This year we have a lot of returning starters and good freshman and sophomore classes underneath us so I’m excited to do some great things with my team this season.
Who is one player on Geneva ready for a breakout season? Derek Verdone has been working very hard this offseason in the weight room and on his technique at defensive line. I expect him to have a very solid senior season.
