Its finally here IHSA Football Family..... 2021 IHSA State Finals will be happening this weekend after 2 years of waiting due to Covid. We made it people, and huge congratulations to the players, coaches, refs, trainers, personnel, ADs on a wonderful season. This weekend is about not only about those 16 teams but also about a celebration of Illinois High School Football. Imagine last year it was all doom and gloom, but now we have a reason to celebrate. From all over the state of Illinois we celebrate IHSA high school football in DeKalb starting Friday morning to Saturday night. Want to wish all of the competitors the best of luck this weekend and congratulate them on battling to the finals. I also want to thank all the teams that played this year, you kids went through some unstable times but you guys got a whole season done.

10:00 AM – Class 1A: Lena-Winslow vs. Carrollton
Lena-Winslow is headed to the State Finals for the 5th time. Carrollton entering the Finals for the 2nd time. Lena-Winslow has only had two losses this season to Forreston and DU-PEC. Carrollton only one loss and that was back in Week 1 to a Camp Point Central team.

1:00 PM – Class 2A: Wilmington vs. Nashville
Wilmington is undefeated and has been a dominate force this whole season. Competing and beating numerous 3A and 4A schools. Nashville comebacks to state after a 2019 loss to Newman Central Catholic. Nashville also a miracle field goal winner against powerhouse St. Teresa in the Semifinals

4:00 PM – Class 3A: Byron vs. Tolono Unity
Byron beat the monster in ICCP in the 3A Semifinals (epic comeback) on Saturday proving they belong in DeKalb. Tolono Unity has been the class of the 3A for the whole season being undefeated and just keep the rhythm going on defense. Coach Hamilton has been to the final dance but never won a title could this be his year?

7:00 PM – Class 4A: Joliet Catholic Academy vs. Sacred Heart-Griffin
Joliet Catholic has been the beast in the State of Illinois and most sure thing in IHSA football in Illinois. Their offensive line is one of the best units in the state of Illinois. Sacred Heart Griffin wins the Leonard Bowl in the Semifinal and has a hot hand with that passing attack. The biggest thing in the IHSA is that we will always be blessed with a presence of a Leonard on Thanksgiving Weekend.

10:00 AM – Class 5A: Fenwick vs. Kankakee
Fenwick has been a team that have ups and downs this season but have managed to collect themselves in the playoffs with a dominate offensive passing attack. Kankakee has been model of execution and winning in the IHSA this season. Coach Hart has these Kays playing a different level of football this season and believing they can get that title.

OH BABY!!!!! Two contrasting teams facing each other in sure to be either a blowout or an upset. East St. Louis just dominating every Illinois team this season with numerous D1 players on both sides of the ball (Only losing too out of state teams). Cary-Grove dominating and disciplined on offense and a defense who will lay a hit out on you.

4:00 PM – Class 7A: Wheaton North vs. St. Rita
Wheaton North has been winning hard and tough the whole season and they take no guff from anyone. These Falcons are battle tested and have a even offensive attack on the offensive side of the ball. St. Rita has been a beast but has lost to some big time teams in Mount Carmel and Loyola. Rita cannot afford overlook WNHS because if they do, they play into WNHS hands.

7:00 PM – Class 8A: Lockport vs. Maine South
Well, we got the Lockport Porters ready and hungry for a title with a group hogs and talented skill players. Lockport has had better control of their season with only one loss to LWE during the regular season. Maine South is Maine South after bouncing back from a upset to Palatine the Hawks have won out and want to add another title to Inserrea. Last Semifinal Running Back Sanjenko added a big time 5 TD game.
