Declan Fortuna how was your senior season? It was great compared to all of my other seasons! The guys on the team came together a lot during the off-season. This made everything click, on and off the field, we were a real team! What does football mean to you? Football is everything to me. Football has always given me a place to go when I need to clear my mind. But most importantly this year football has taught me to come together with those around me to become a team, for the bettering of a group and not just me.

What should college coaches know about you? I want college coaches to know that I am hard working, and that I have perseverance when it comes to subjects on and off the football field. I want college coaches to know that my high school football experience taught me how to handle adversity! Also to fight when others wanted to quit! What do you feel is your strongest trait on the football field? I think my strongest trait on the football field is being able to get hit and stay to keep going. What was one of your favorite memories this season? This season my favorite memory was winning GBN as a senior to win the Stratford cup. Lake Park hasn’t won that in a while, so it felt amazing.

What do incoming players need to know about Lake Park football program? Incoming players need to understand that the seniors this season gave it their all to change the culture on and off the field! And most would say we did because of the changing of our record! They need to understand that the Head Coach Chris Kirkpatrick is one of the best in the state and they will need to give it their all for him as he will give his all for them!
