Carl Bew Jr. how is your season going for you so far? Honestly this season has felt like a total rollercoaster for us all, there’s been a lot of ups and downs especially when putting into consideration the two game set back we had due to covid. Although the outcome of the past six games we’ve played hasn’t been what we would’ve wished for, we continuously try to ensure we leave with something more than just a loss. What does football mean to you? Football is something that i have loved and cherished for almost ten years now. It’s a sport that has always meant the world to me. It’s given me a bigger motivation to become better, not only for myself but for the team i’m apart of. Football has given me a reason to become better than what most would expect from me. It inspires me to be my best self, and has consistently proven to be something worth working for. What should college coaches know about you? I feel the college coaches should know I’m someone who will go all the way for my team. I’ll do all i can to make sure i’m doing my part and more in leading us to success. I am very passionate about football, it’s the game i love and give my all in. I’m definitely a team player, i hold myself as well as my team to a standard i am more than willing to help them reach along with me. My constant goal for the team is success. I see success as more than just a few wins, success for me is how well my team can work together and how well we can push to be our best selves every game. It’s how much improvement we can make as a season goes on, the wins are just an added bonus we get when approaching the season the right way as a team. What has been your favorite memory so far this season? My favorite memory comes from the practice we held recently where we involved the AVAC students. It was a valuable moment for us all, we got to teach and spread our love for football to other students who had just as much fun as we did. Seeing the joy we were able to give them was definitely something I’d say felt rewarding. We got to teach them the way of the game and spend time with students who on a normal day we probably wouldn’t be given the chance to. It gave them and us an opportunity to learn about something we maybe weren’t the most familiar with and really meant a lot to us players. *AVAC students (our special education program students).

What do you like about playing QB? Quarterback is a position you get to be a leader in and a position you actually have to put in consistent work for. It also gives you a different perspective of the game and your team. You now are able to be front and center with other players, you get to push them to be better. I’ve always been a natural leader, and with that comes the constant want to be successful with a team. I not only have the weight of being better for myself on me, but i also get to carry around the fact that my team needs me to push as hard as i can as well. Being a quarterback feeds you with the kind of motivation i haven’t been able to find anywhere else, that being another reason i love the game.
