Joe Sacco St. Edward Class of 2021 5'10 170 Athlete
Joe Sacco how was your 2019 season?
It was pretty good St. Eds made the playoffs and won the Metro Suburban Conference (Red) for the second year in a row with a 6-3 record. We won the first round of the playoffs against Chicago Orr but we lost in the second round to Fieldcrest ending with a 7-4 record. I was also able to rush for 939 yards with 13 rushing touchdowns. I also had 25 receptions for 407 receiving yards with 6 receiving touchdowns. I was also All Conference and All area.
What do you feel is your strongest trait on the football field?
I feel like my strongest trait on the football field is my versatility. I am not only able to run through between the tackles but I am able to catch passes out of the backfield and run routes from the slot if needed.
What should college coaches know about you?
The thing college coaches should know about me is I am a team player. I will do whatever the team needs no matter what. Although the personal achievements are great I care about the team first.
What part of your game have you been working on in the offseason?
I have been working on picking up blocks from in the backfield. I have also been working on my vision so I can’t miss a read next year.
How does St. Edwards look for the upcoming season? We look good this year. We have about 16 returning starters. These are the same starters that helped us win the conference the past 2 years. All together I feel like we are ready this year and with the season being moved back we will look like a well oiled machine come spring and hopefully make a deep playoff run!
