Matthew Noguez Morton Class of 2021 Kicker 5'8 160
Matthew Noguez how was your 2019 season? My 2019 season was definitely one to remember as it was my first year playing football. I feel like I adapted well after many years of playing soccer and I was able to start late in the year as I beat out the senior kicker. I only attempted a few amount of kicks but I am 100% in my high school career What schools have you talked to so far? North Central College, Carrol University, Concordia University Chicago, St. Ambrose, William Penn University, Kalamazoo College, Northern Michigan University, Hillsdale College, UIndy, Roosevelt University, Avila University, and Culver-Stockton College What should college coaches know about you? I feel that they should know I am a hard worker on the field and in the classroom. I’ve always carried myself to a high standard in my grades and also on the field, ever since I transitioned from soccer to football I have done nothing but grind everyday and better myself. Wherever I end up committing I know I will have to compete for a spot and I am completely up for the challenge. What do you like about playing kicker? One of my favorite things is that you have to be self motivated, we all know the kicker position has always been on sort of an island of it’s own but I do like the distance in a way. I like that sometimes it’s just me and the ball and I determine my own fate really. How does Morton look for the upcoming season? Honestly one of the biggest positives of this delayed season is the amount of work my teammates have been able to put in. When we had practices this fall I truly got to see this team take a step forward and I feel that our offense will be a lot more productive and it all starts with the coaches really. They’ve always been there for us since we got locked down and they would send us workouts to stay in shape and I know next year will definitely be bright year for Morton
