Ethan Thulin Downers Grove North WR/DB Class of 2023 6'0 175

Ethan Thulin how was your season? This season was pretty solid and a big learning experience for me. I loved playing every second of the season. We started off hot 3-0 and we struggled in the end, not making the playoffs going 4-5. 4 of those losses were one score ball games. I think that our record from this year is already influencing all the guys in the weight room to not let it happen again next season. What does football mean to you? To me, football is a lot more than just a game. I have only been playing football since freshman year of high school but through football I have learned endless lessons that I will use throughout my life. Going out Friday nights to represent the DGN community with teammates we grind with every day creates a feeling that I love. Going out there to compete with the guys almost every day in the fall is an unexplainable feeling. What should college coaches know about you? I think the biggest thing coaches should know is that I’m a competitor and a team minded player. I will do whatever it takes to win in any phase of any sport or game. Also whether it’s football, basketball, or baseball I’m going to contribute in any way I can to help the team succeed. When in season, getting all the guys fully committed and then also holding each other accountable on and off the field/court is a huge part of every season to me and it brings all out the best in everyone. What do you feel is your strongest trait on the football field? I’m very proud of the big-time impact I have on the field with my teammates! Whether it’s on offense, defense, or special teams I am a game changer when the ball is in my hands! I absolutely love being a go to game changer for my team! It’s been electric, can’t wait for the fall!

What part of your game do you plan on working on in the offseason? Looking to improve my strength and speed. Speed wise I’m looking to train to get my forty from 4.5 to 4.4. Strength looking to add 10-15 pounds of muscle! How does this Downers Grove North team look for the upcoming season? I know we have the guys to be able to win the WSC Silver next year. More importantly I also know this group of guys can make a big run in the 7A playoffs too. I know we can compete with the best competition in the state, and we will out people on notice next year. What goals do you have for yourself this upcoming season? My goal is to win WSC Conference and a 7A State Championship. All the other accomplishments like All-State, All-Conference, All-Area, etc would be great too. But my biggest goal for next year is to get an opportunity to play at the next level. I think winning Conference and State can put coaches on notice for not only myself but our entire DGN program.
