Chatting With Bloom Linebacker Jalil Brown Class Of 2025

So, in a way to better understand the use of Deep Dish Football for Illinois recruits and the whole entire IHSA Football scene. Decided to do player profiles of players who you might not know or you might know, but you should respect them for their roles on their respective teams. This is one of the many reasons why Deep Dish Football is respected in the IHSA. Every Football Player Has A Story To Tell

Jalil Brown Bloom LB/ATH Class Of 2025 5'10 180

Jalil Brown how was your first game back? My first game back was great, we had a great crowd at Sarff Field and my guys showed up. That’s really all I could ask for, they made key plays they needed, Troy Garner had a big game, our defense was great, offense was moving. It honestly just felt great to have bloom back in that winning atmosphere. What does football mean to you? Football means a lot to me, my grandfather was a great running back at Marian Catholic, my uncles were great, I’m just hoping to fill in their footsteps. Coming from my environment, and all the violence, football is most of the youth around here’s way out, and that means a lot to me because I’ve witnessed plenty of kids with talent does not make it because of the environment they were in. What should college coaches know about you? College Coaches should know that I’m ready to compete, I'm ready to lead, and take on a big role at any school, no matter the level, I have a 3.3 GPA and I attend Bloom Township High School.

What do you feel is your strongest trait on the field? I think my strongest trait on the field is play recognition. I can see what’s happening before it happens, and just IQ in general, I’ve been playing football for 14 years and most stuff just comes natural now. How good can this Bloom team be for the rest of the season? Of course, the expectation is state, we have a great team, and got a completely new coaching staff and new scheme. We have many key player makers like Darius Edwards, that guy catches everything, Terrion White, one of - if not the best quarterback in the state, and on defense we have Lukas Butkus, nephew of Dick Butkus, that guy can play. Amari Daniels who picks everything, so the ceiling for this team is very high. We just got to keep working.

What goals do you have for yourself the rest of the season? Goals I have for me this season, first obviously rack up some offers. College has been and will stay my number one goal, next is 100 tackles, 10 interceptions 10 sacks. And my last goal is to just become a better football player, a better leader on the field and off the field and lead my team to state.

Remember Deep Dish Football Is Just Not About Recruiting
