Catch A Rising QB Star - Meet The Big Names Of Illinois For This QB Class Of 2023

So here are big names of Illinois for this QB Class of 2023 . I consider these Land of Lincoln Gunslingers the best of the best for this class. Some you may know but some you may not know. This class is a lot like the 2016 Illinois class, not historic like 2021 but a great variety of talent. Again these are from my scouting notes and my scouting scores from the spring season and summer college camp season (& talking with college coaches) so far. Also please understand these kids are still young and developing their game. Especially at QB which I consider one of the toughest positions in football. They still have two seasons left and things can change. Again these names are not in order or ranked so please take it easy. College Coaches if you need more info (notes) please email me or DM me. Let's Get Started

Catch A Rising QB Star - Meet The Big Names Of Illinois For This QB Class Of 2023

Elijah Owens Jacksonville 6'2 203 HUDL TWITTER

Elijah is a jack of all trades QB that can kill defenses with his arm. He is one of Central Illinois best kept recruiting secrets. Underrated speed and great accuracy define this young QB. Very smooth under pressure from the defenders. FROM COACH BIG PETE'S ILLINOIS RECRUITS READY TO EXPLODE ON THE RECRUITING ARTICLE

ONE MORE THING: Will be seen as a Top 5 QB by the end of this fall season. That's a Guarantee!!! (I don't do guarantees often).

Jake Stearney Loyola Academy 6'3 185 HUDL TWITTER

Jake has impressed me since 2020 fall season with size and arm. His touch on the ball is highly impressive along with his patience . Great job at reading and defenses and also prolonging plays with his feet as well with that frame. FROM COACH BIG PETE'S ILLINOIS RECRUITS READY TO EXPLODE ON THE RECRUITING ARTICLE

ONE MORE THING: When its all said and done Jake could be a Top 3 QB in the state of Illinois for the Class of 2023. He is going to have spotlight breaking Junior season.

Ben Monahan Hinsdale Central 6'3 190 HUDL TWITTER

Hinsdale Central I swear is becoming a QB factory. Ben Monahan is another future Red Devil star that you must keep an eye out for. Love his mobility and great arm mechanics as well, and not mention great athleticism under pressure. Will be another late rising QB after the fall to watch. Will be talked about more once we get into the Winter going into 2022.

Josh Holst Marengo 6'3 170 HUDL TWITTER

Nice big frame from this underrated star QB up north. Really like his arm and not to mention the kid can throw on the run. Love his ability to make when its not there. The fact that at such a young age he plays like a senior QB. Will be another huge Fall riser for college coaches to look at this season.

Braiden Walwer Watseka 6'3 175 HUDL TWITTER

Very and I mean very raw QB, but has shown flashes of his talented. Small school stud that has been on my radar for the past 4 months. Tough as nails QB that has to still work on his delivery but can grow in a potential Top 10 QB for the Class of 2023.

Dominic Pavell Carmel 6'0 190 HUDL TWITTER

Dominic to me is a nice little throwback QB to days of the old school West Coast offense. Love his passing ability with the play-action (I consider a very underrated skill). Really impressed with his throws from taking snaps under center. Throws through a great window to make a great play against the secondary. Not bad mobility either for Dominic as well.

Colt Michael O'Fallon 6'2 190 HUDL TWITTER

Great size not to mention a nice quickness to him as well. Is a wait and see project for the Fall, and a lot of college scouts will be at that those games. Love how he finds the receivers outside pad in his ball placement. A lot of College Coaches have been asking questions about him for this upcoming season.

Tyler Fikis Hampshire 6'0 175 HUDL TWITTER

One of the more athletic QBs in the state of Illinois for this Class of 2023. Really burst onto the scene with Hampshire surprise spring season. Huge arm and he is really great at prolonging a play with his feet. I have him on my watchlist for the IHSA Pre-Season All State and could help Hampshire make a deep run in the playoffs.

Anthony Picciolini Benet 6'3 220 HUDL TWITTER

Impressive throwing and nice job on his reads against defenses. Love the fact that waits for the play to develop and makes the throw. I think he could be one of the biggest riser this Fall, and really think he is going to catch the eyes of college coaches. Again Benet has one of the better QB depth charts in the IHSA.

Cole Teschner Montini 6'2 189 HUDL TWITTER

Part of dynamic Bronco duo of recruits in the state of Illinois. Love how he fits the ball through the tight window in his Spring Season. Very high on-field IQ for a QB from this class of 2023, and consider him one of the better QBs with accuracy in 2023. Another wait and see situation with College Coaches this upcoming season.

Mark Mennecke Neuqua Valley 6'1 175 HUDL TWITTER

Just like schools mentioned in this article, Neuqua Valley is becoming a huge QB factory that keeps producing QBs. Mark looks to be the next big star for the Wildcats. Throws the ball through tight spots and does a great job finding the opening man. Doesn't have that crazy eyes as a lot of younger QBs have with the ball. Will be huge riser for the Fall of 2021 no doubt about it.

Sam Deligio Huntley 5'10 170 HUDL TWITTER

If he had 4 more inches he would be a Top 3 QB in Illinois. Awesome mobility and anticipates his WRs routes in great fashion. Great touch on the ball from Sam and looks to be a top QB up in Northern Illinois no doubt about that. Love the way Deligio passes the balls on the rollout, along with his vision.

Eli Meier Sycamore 6'0 170 TWITTER HUDL

Kid is just a pure competitor and wants to win every snap. Still very raw in his technique, but all he wants to do is compete. Had an amazing sophomore season for Sycamore and will continue to grow in his position for his upcoming season. His size fits the game that he plays, and love his ability to evade defenders to get those extra yards.

James DiStaso-Hutchins Edwardsville 6'5 230 HUDL TWITTER

James impressed this past winter at the NXT Level workout. Really love this kids touch on the ball and throws that he makes. Lets not forget his frame and speed that James has in his arsenal. We will see a lot more of him for this upcoming fall. He will be another big name Edwardsville has for this upcoming season.

Lucas Proudfoot Providence 5'11 172 HUDL TWITTER

Reminds a lot of Clifton Central's Jay Lemenager Class of 2023 and Manteno's Gavin Zimbelman Class of 2017. Cannon for a arm and makes plays that QB of his size is not suppose to make. Could be a big time Fall riser once the season is done. Talked a lot about as a darkhorse for the upcoming junior class.

Ryan Dawson Downers Grove South 6'4 220 HUDL TWITTER

Size and underrated mobility make this kid really noteworthy and not to mention his accuracy. He will be a Top 3 QB when all is said and done by next year. He throws the ball with such ease and patience that is what impresses me most about Ryan. College Coaches really love his size and ability not to fret over defensive pressure. Was another QB that was talked about this camp season.

Jacob Donohue Grayslake North 5'11 170 HUDL TWITTER

Jacob exploded onto the recruiting scene after a marvelous spring season. One of the better QB with throwing techniques, reminds me a lot of Zach Oles from 2016. Willing to get the right foot placement for the perfect throw. This kid could be really special this fall and I think him being undersized is a wait and see project for college coaches. FROM Coach Big Pete's Top 10 Under The Radar Illinois Recruits For The Class Of 2023 For Summer 2021 ARTICLE

One More Thing: I really think Jacob is could be a Top 5 QB in Illinois by the end of the 2021 Fall season.

Aidan Gray Naperville North 6'3 185 HUDL TWITTER

Alright here is the thing about Aidan, I got a second look at his Hudl this Summer. I got to say was amazed at his growth and progress that he has made as a QB. I see Mr. Gray as one of the 3 Top QBs in the State of Illinois. For all the QBs on this list, he was the one that most progressed his game this Spring.

Robert (Tre) Jones Oswego East 6'3 180 HUDL TWITTER

Jones just like the QB above is a Top 3 QB in this Illinois Class of 2023 QBs. Part of very dynamic Montini QB duo that I haven't seen in a while in Illinois. He is the ultimate weapon for college offensive coordinators, he can kill you with his arm and if you give some daylight he can run it in for a touchdown. Was seen as the best QB in the class after his freshmen season. Very high on-field IQ, can read defensive schemes great. (NOW TRANSFERRED TO OSWEGO EAST)
