Luke Woodson ATH Class of 2022 Deerfield 5'10 185
Luke Woodson how was your 2019 season?
I felt my 2019 season was very successful as a player and more importantly a successful team season. I felt both me and the team improved and started to click as the season went along. Our playoff success had to do with team chemistry and our culture in the program.
What should college coaches know about you?
Coaches should know that I value leadership as a player to be very important. I always value the teams success over my own. My strongest value as a player is my IQ for the game.
What part of your game have you been working on in the offseason?
This off season I have worked on my speed and size. I have been working out with the Dbs at win performance to work on my footwork.
What are your feelings about IHSA Spring Football?
We talked about in our culture meetings that we can only control what we can control. During summer camp we found out after week one. We talked about our response to events and after we found out the teams attitude stayed positive towards getting better. As a leader it was important to preach that we can’t control when we touch the field but when we do we can control weather we are stronger and faster and that we can know the playbook.
What does football mean to you?
I started playing football when I was going into first grade. Over the years I have learned football teaches you many life lessons. The game had always been bigger then football and has made me a better person because of it.
