George Apostolou LB Class of 2021 Glenbard West 6'1 210

George Apostolou how was your 2019 season?

My 2019 season was a great learning experience as I was afforded the opportunity to compete and learn at a varsity level. A lot was asked of me as a football player and I loved every minute of it. The camaraderie I formed with my teammates was exceptional. This was a very special group.

What does football mean to you?

Football to me is more than just a sport. Football has had a positive impact on my life ever since I was a young child. It’s taught me life lessons such as discipline, dedication and teamwork that have not only made me a better athlete, but a better student and a better human being. The beauty about football is that it forces you into a leadership role no matter what position you play. I carry this leadership mindset to my studies and into my daily interactions & relationships.

What would you like college coaches to know about you?

College coaches should know that I challenge myself on the football field just as much as I challenge myself in the classroom. I’m a high academic student and I value my studies equally as much as my football experience. One of my better football traits is that I’m extremely versatile and coachable. I’m a student of the game and I can play both sides of the ball. I am also extremely competitive which is reflected by my strong work ethic that distinguishes me from other players. I would like college coaches to know that I’m a two sport athlete having played lacrosse at the varsity level.

What goal do you have for yourself this upcoming season?

This upcoming season, I want to be the best version of myself on and off the field. On the field, my goals are to perfect my position and to push myself to compete at the highest level I possibly can. Off the field, my goals are to continue to challenge myself in my academic studies and to give back to the community by participating in community outreach programs.

Who on Glenbard West is ready for a breakout season?

Other than myself, I believe Denin Limouris will have a great season. He is a phenomenal athlete and leader that shares the same work ethic as I do. Like myself, Denin is a very versatile player that can play both sides of the ball. He is going to have an excellent season.
