Mike Williams Class of 2022 Loyola Academy DT 5'11 225
Mike Williams how was your 2019 season?
It was great but didn’t end the way we envisioned. On the bright side moving up to varsity last year really accelerated my development and helped me gain experience at a high level.
What does football mean to you?
Football means everything. In a way it’s an escape from the real world. Going out and playing my heart out for my family and school is what I love to do and I’m going to do whatever it takes to keep playing.
What should college coaches know about you?
College coaches should know that I’m working everyday to be better than I was the day before and that I’m a driven kid that’s going to represent their school in the best light whether that’s athletics, academics, or in daily life.
What do you feel is your strongest trait on the football field?
I think one of my strongest traits is the leverage I play with. Being shorter I have a low center of gravity that helps me fire out lower than big offensive lineman.
What do you like about playing on the Defensive Line?
I like that you can really be violent on the d line I also really like using my hands in pass rush to put pressure on the quarterback.
How was your wrestling season?
It was a decent season but didn’t pan out the way I would have liked. I was a sectional qualifier at 195 but lost to a Barrington senior and the Huntley kid that made it down to state this year which ended my season.
