Ethan Trimm OL/DT Class of 2021 Carlinville 6'3 300

Ethan Trimm how was your 2019 season?

Individually I think I did alright I definitely have room to improve both Offensively and defensively on defense it’s definitely more about I need to work on technique like working on staying low and using my hands more to fight off the block was a big thing I noticed looking back on film and offensively I think it’s just more about giving more effort every play like I would take a couple plays off which is a bad thing I need to improve upon in the upcoming season but I think I did well especially since I switched schools and it was a new system. As a team I think we set are expectations pretty high because we knew we could go far and we switched our game plan offensively about half way through the season which took a little to get used to, and in the the 1st round we matched up against a good Mt. Carmel team which had a lot of talent offensively and defensively and we couldn’t get it done and I think they were just the better team that game ir sucks the way it ended for the seniors which had high expectations but it was a good season.

What does football mean to you?

It means a lot to be able to come together as a team and as like a second family its a feeling some people just wouldn’t understand. Ever since 3rd grade I have been playing and have just fell in love with the game. It’s just an amazing feeling when you get to run out on to the field on Friday nights and just have everyone cheer for you is just a surreal feeling that you won’t always get. Also being able to get wins with the team is great but also being able to represent the school and the community and knowing they support you through it all is great.

What should college coaches know about you?

That I’m a hard worker and I will put the work in the weight room that’s needed and if I can’t get a starting spot right away I will stick with it and just be comporting every week for the spot until I can get it but I will be there to help the team anyway possible and if that’s running scout team then by all means I’ll do it and getting the starters good reps I will go out and give it my best. But when I get my name called for the starting spot if I get the chance then I will give it my all. I can also play multiple spots on offensive and defensive, because being versatile is a good thing to have.

What goals do you have for yourself this upcoming season?

Lead the conference in tackles and sacks for DT, hopefully get 1st team all conference both offensively and defensively and maybe get an all-state selection in the process and just be the best player I can be also help the team go 9-0

How does Carlinville look for 2020?

I think we are looking pretty good for 2020. We have a lot of guys returning for the season not only that a lot of key guys both offensively and defensively. We have some of the younger players that are looking pretty good as well that can help us out. Having a lot of guys returning will help the leadership role it was just be one of us it will be all of us pushing people which will hopefully make for a pretty good season as well. I don’t think a lot of people are expecting us to be that talented or as good we have been in the past but they don’t know how hard our guys work for the program. We have a lot of talented guys that can really help us out like our offensive lineman should be pretty good along with a good backfield and defensively the same thing, I think we should be a team to watch out for in the 2020 season and we want to go 9-0 so there is no question that we would be the best team in the conference. So I think we should be a team that people look out for and say they are going to be a tough team to beat, so I think we are shaping up to have a good season but we still have work to put in to be that team we know we can and that people think are going to be a tough team to play.
