Jamel Britt Class of 2021 Phillips FB/ATH 5'9 210

Jamel Britt how was your 2019 season?
My 2019 season was a learning experience for me. Being a junior RB and FB I learned a lot about not being selfish and be available to my brothers on and off the field.
What part of your game have you been working on in the offseason?
A part of my game that I've been working on is speed, speed, and speed. Attacking my core muscle is my main focus. With track and baseball being over , I've been doing a lot of self cardio.
What should college coaches know about you?
I feel like college coaches should know I'm curious but my IQ is a one my greatest aspect of my game. I also pride myself in being able to play any position on the field if need be.
What was your best block in 2019?
My best block of 2019 was the 2nd game of the season against St.Mary's, opening up a hole for Tyler Clark to blast through and break the tie before the half.
How does Phillips look for 2020?
For our Phillips 2020 team , We look indisputable. We have a lot of our guys coming back and young guys that are still growing, coming to play with the big dogs and I feel like once we're all levelheaded it's just going to get scarier for every team we face in the 2020 season.
What does football mean to you?
I've been asking myself this question a lot , but football to me means having someone back when no one else does. Making life long friendships through a game of no repentance. Football to me is learning how to have controlled aggression in deep situations of pressure. Putting your complete and undying trust into someone you've just met a full summer ago. Thats what football is to me.
What do you feel is your strongest trait on the field?
My strongest trait as far as being a teammate is seeing when my brothers aren't feeling as good as they usually are and finding a way to bring energy throughout practice and game while still being focused on task at hand.
