CBP:   Henry Boyer how was your 2019 season?

HENRY:   Honestly, it was a really good year for the Payton team and I as a whole. We finished the regular season 8-0-1. I was pleased with my year and I have been hitting the gym almost everyday since the season ended. Working on my strength, speed, and footwork.

What does football mean to you?

I love competing. As a multi-sport athlete, to me nothing is better than going to battle with your guys. I starting playing when I was 10 and fell in love with it since the moment I put the helmet on. Every season motivates me to keep pushing and get better. While I have two years left of high school, I want to be among some of the best players in the country and continue to compete at the highest level that I can. I believe I am on the right path, but I have a lot of work to do. I consider myself very fortunate as I have the support of my coaches, my teammates, and my family.

What should college coaches know about you?

Academically, I attend Walter Payton College Prep, the ninth best public school in the United States, so I understand the rigors of balancing my schoolwork and athletics. Athletically, I take nothing for granted. I put the work in every single day and strive to be the best football player and teammate that I can possibly be.

How does Walter Payton Prep look for 2020?

We lost a few key seniors, but have a lot of returning starters with guys who are ready to step up, and a dedicated coaching staff that prepares us week in and week out no matter what team we face. Guys like 2021 DPOY Joe Saviano, 2021 Eamon Glascott, 2021 Danny O’Connell, 2021 Jack Haneberg, 2021 Thomas Melecio, 2022 O-lineman of the year Elliot Graziano, and 2022 Jacob Persons will be some of our key returners moving into next year.

What position do you feel most comfortable playing?

That’s a tough choice coach, I know that I want to be a force on both sides of the ball coming into next season, but right now my focus is to excel at both and put our team in the position to win games.
