Tyson Splinter Class of 2021 Prospect WR/TE 6'3 200

CBP: Tyson Splinter how was your 2019 season?

TYSON: As a team we improved over last year and finished strong by winning a playoff game. We lost a tough 2nd round playoff game against Rolling Meadows. As a player I thought I was a valuable contributor to the teams success and made some big time plays in crucial situations.

What does football mean to you?

Football is big part of my life. My Dad who played college football has been coaching and teaching skills to me since I was little. Playing football not only has taught me how to be competitive on the field but also how to handle real life situations. The last 2 years Coach DeBoeuf has also made a big impact by teaching me skills to be successful at the high school level as well as in college.

What schools have you talked to so far?

I have had an individual visit at South Dakota, a Junior Day Visit at South Dakota State. I have upcoming Junior Day Visits at Southern Illinois and Princeton. I have had interest from Cornell, Bowling Green, Ball State, and Minnesota State.

What should college coaches know about you?

I have really worked hard at my craft of catching footballs and route running. I have trained with Throw Deep as well as other camps since I was 12. I have caught footballs from Pro as well as College Quarterbacks I continue to strive to be the best player can every day. I am also a successful multi- sport athlete playing Lacrosse, Baseball, Basketball, Track, Volleyball over the years.

How does Prospect look for 2020?

I think we have a lot of potential for next season. We have some key players returning next year. Coach DeBoeuf and coaching staff has developed a positive and uptempo environment for us to be successful. One of team goals is to make it farther in the playoffs next year and hopefully bring a State Championship back to Prospect.

What do you feel is your strongest trait on the field?

My strongest trait is my innate ability to jump up and catch the football over any defender. Also because of my size, am also an elite blocker.

Remember Deep Dish Football Is Just Not About Recruiting But About The Love Of The Game Of IHSA Football
