So in a way to better understand the use of Deep Dish Football for lllinois recruits and the whole entire IHSA Football scene. Jay Burton Class of 2021 Carmel 5'10 180 ATH

COACH BIG PETE: Jay Burton how was your 2019 season?

JB: It was challenging, we had many setbacks with injuries, not finishing in the 4th quarter, and a lot of miscommunication between the players on the field.

What was one of your favorite memories in 2019?

Definitely the catch I made against St. Viator at the end of the game. We were down by a touchdown and the coach gave us all streaks and I just made a play at the end of the quarter than sent us into overtime and we won in overtime

How does this Carmel team look for 2020?

I think we’ll be good, a lot of seniors are graduating but our underclassmen look very promising and one of our top players Syone Usma, who was out most of the season last year, is coming back too.

What schools have you talked to so far?

So far Toledo, Illinois State, Bowling Green State, North Dakota State, and NIU

What should college coaches know about you?

That I’m coachable and am willing to play any position they need me in, and that I’m a hard worker and will work for my spot on the field

What does football mean to you?

I love football, ever since I was 10 I loved playing catch and going to practice everyday, I sacrifice a lot for this sport and I worked hard to be in the position I’m in right now.

Remember Deep Dish Football Is Just Not About Recruiting But About The Love Of The Game Of IHSA Football

RESPECT THE GAME
