So in a way to better understand the use of Deep Dish Football for lllinois recruits and the whole entire IHSA Football scene. Decided to do player profiles of players who you might not know or you might know , but you should respect them for their roles on their respective teams. Every Football Player Has A Story To Tell
Sam Buck OL/DL Class of 2021 Highland 6'3 285
Sam Buck welcome back.... How was your 2019 season?
Our 2019 season as a team had a bit of a rough start but we picked it up quickly. My season personally went very well except for a few injuries. I was named first team all conference on both sides of the line and was given a honorable mention for the all state team.
What part of your game do you plan on working on in the offseason?
I plan on working on my flexibility a lot more along with my pass rush on the defensive side. On offense I plan to fine tune my pass protection and inside zone get offs. I also plan to be in the weight room as much as I can.
What are your winter/spring plans?
Well as of right now my schedule is pretty clear. I’ve been invited to the elite football combine in St. Louis and the six star football combine. And for camps I do not have any scheduled yet.
What schools have you talked to so far?
I’ve been to Iowa state and Illinois state for game day visits. And I was invited to the University of Illinois and Eastern Illinois for game day visits but was unable to attend. South Dakota State University has invited me to their junior day.
How does Highland look for 2020?
The 2020 season looks very promising for Highland. We have most of our backfield returning except for our full back. We did lose three of our O-linemen but we have guys coming up that show great promise. A good amount of our defense is coming back this year to. And everyone is just excited to be back in the weight room and get after it.
