Peter Russchenberg Palatine Class of 2021 6'2 220 DT

Peter Russchenberg how was your 2019 season?

My 2019 season was great. It was great working hard on that field with my brothers. Playing football with them was a great experience and I can’t wait to do it again next year.

What do you like about playing in the trenches?

My favorite part about playing in the trenches is being able to compete one on one and beat the man I’m competing against. I always take it personal if I don’t. It’s always a war in there and if I win and do my job, that leads to success for my team. Every game is decided by the battles that are won and lost in the trenches.

What would you like college coaches to know about you?

What I want college coaches to know about me is that I’ll always play to the whistle. I’m a hard worker, a gritty player, and an even better teammate. I always do what’s best for the team.

What are your winter/spring plans?

I’ve been in the weight room each week since the football season ended to keep getting stronger and faster. Also, I will play lacrosse for my school in the spring. During the lacrosse season I plan to keep lifting and training to continue to make progress and be the best player I can be.

What goals do you have for yourself in 2020?

My goals for this year are to just keep grinding it out in the weight room and in the classroom also. I just want to keep making myself better not just for me, but because of the fact that I want my team to succeed. It’s going to be a very exciting year for me playing football and continuing my recruiting process.

What game are you most looking forward to in 2020?

The game I’m looking forward to most this year is against Fremd, our rival team in the MSL West. It’s always fun going to war against the guys I used to play football with. It’s always my favorite game each season.

Remember Deep Dish Football Is Just Not About Recruiting But About The Love Of The Game Of IHSA Football
