Charlie Baer Glenbard West OL Class of 2021 6'2 240
Charlie Baer how was your 2019 season?
I personally think my 2019 season went well. I grew a lot as a player and a person. I made many friendships that will last. While the end outcome wasn’t what i had hoped for, I enjoyed every minute of it and i wouldn’t take it back for anything.
What do you feel you need to work on in the offseason to improve your game?
My biggest thing is getting stronger and working on my technique. Anyone could beat anyone on any given day, but the man with the better technique always wins out. I feel that if I could improve my technique, I could only get better as a player.
How has Rugby bettered your technique in Football?
Rugby has helped me to get better footwork and faster footwork. It has also helped me keep a lower pad level, have faster twitch reflex muscles, and it has allowed me to be able to improve my overall speed which is never a bad thing.
What game are you most looking forward to next season?
Without a doubt Hinsdale central is going to be a big game for us next year. They were our closest game all year last year besides Loyola and they are an in conference team which puts an even bigger emphasis on wanting to beat them.
What would you like college coaches to know about you?
That I am a hard worker. I may not be the biggest or strongest guy out there but I will push myself to my limits in order to win. I play every game like it is my last and I don’t plan on stopping that mentality
Biggest eater on the GBW line is?
Last year without a doubt was Andrew Johnson. I once witnessed this man eat 6 whole chicken fingers 3 plates of fries and an appetizer. 5 minutes later he was asking people who were done if he could finish their food. This year, it’s harder to tell. There are a few Guys who could eat lots of food but Wes Hoeh probably takes the cake this year for the biggest eater.
