John Pettit how was your 2019 season?
Overall i feel like i had a great junior season. I averaged 4 tackles per game totaling 36 throughout the year, with 23 of those being solo tackles.
Favorite memory in the 2019 season was?
My favorite memory from this year is my safety against lake park in their opening drive. We had them backed up on their own 5 and i got the the quarterback on a blitz.
What do you like about playing on the defense?
I love the physical nature of playing defense. getting a big tackle is my favorite thing to do on the football field and that requires the right mindset and physical ability to be successful.
What does Geneva need to do to get in the playoffs for 2020?
To get into the playoffs this year we need to work hard this offseason. We need everybody in the weight room getting bigger and stronger while also getting faster. Then on game day we all need to execute our assignments. We must start off strong and dedicate our talents to our end goal.
Excited for wrestling season?
I can’t wait to see what i can do on the mat this year. I hope that wrestling will increase my strength and endurance in preparation for the upcoming football season.
What would tell a football player still trying decide if he wants to wrestle or not?
I would tell them that they need to do what they think will be the best for them and will help them achieve their goals. I understand that wrestling isn’t for everyone but the most important thing is that you do whatever you need to do to be the best you can be on the field.
