Austin Korba Hersey OL/LS Class of 2020 6'1 250
Austin Korba how was your regular season?
Our regular season went very well. We had a plan to go out and dominate on both sides of the football and we definitely did. Even Going into the playoffs we are always trying to get better at every position and really work on making our weaknesses our strengths. I know if I did my job every play we would have a good result. Personally, I really had to continuously get after being a big presence on offensive line and defensive line, and just an all around player.
What do you see in this Auburn squad for Friday?
We see a pretty athletic team that has decent players at all positions. No matter their record we need to go in and play the game we know how to play.
What schools have been talking to so far?
I’ve been talking to schools of all divisions. Mainly Butler, Washington University In St. Louis, Colorado School of Mines, Augustana, as well as long snapping D1 opportunities.
What should college coaches know about you?
Im a leader at heart that wants to compete. I’m a versatile player, and no matter what position I’m at, I’m going to give it everything I’ve got. I’ve been starting on varsity since I was a sophomore and have had the opportunity to play many positions as well as being an elected captain by my teammates for the last two years. Im a coachable player that challenges myself in the classroom with advanced classes and time management. I’m mentally and physically tough and I believe I have what it takes to compete at the next level.
Favorite memory this season?
The entire season has been amazing. It’s been a great ride fighting alongside my boys every Friday. My guys will be my friends for life. So many fun things but we believe the best is yet to come.
But to pick one, it would have to be celebrating as a team in the black box theatre after a win
What does Hersey football mean to you?
Hersey football is more than just football to me. Coach Pardun has taught me things that will shape me into being a respectful man all throughout life. Being a leader, a community presence, giving back to our school and community. The main thing that comes to mind is “All-Grit”. Getting back up when you get knocked down and fighting for the things that you believe in. We have the greatest coaching staff that have taught me lessons that will stick with me for the rest of my life. It has been an honor to be a part of this program.
