Josh Beetham Yorkville QB 6'5 220 Class of 2020

COACH BIG PETE'S TAKE

Josh Beetham has been on college coaches radar since his freshmen season. Consider top 3 QB in the state, and a top 20 QB in the Midwest region for the class of 2020. One of the smarter IQ QBs with the great ability to read defenses. Tall frame, and underrated mobility as well is what makes him dangerous.

Josh Beetham how is your season going so far?

So far our season is going great. Cannot ask for more as far as our record. I think we are a very close knit team/family and that has helped in our close games so far. I think we have a good amount of room for improvement but excited to keep working.

How do you feel you have progressed from your freshmen season?

Well, the obvious is going from 5'9" to 6'5". I think I am just about done growing into my body athletically. My speed, strength and footwork have consistently improved. The intellectual and leadership part of the QB position needs constant effort and I have progressed into what I feel is a very strong leader of our team. As a passer, I feel I can make all the throws as opposed to a when I was a less developed freshman.

Whats schools have you talked to so far?

That's a long list from P5 to D3's, QB recruiting is a very difficult game. Most schools only take 1 QB per cycle and they do a lot of researching and talking to us. So I have talked to a lot and had a good amount of visits, currently still talking to a few P5, BCS and FCS schools that don't have 2020 commits. Also a good amount of very good D2/3's and NAIA's. Its amazing how good the athletes are at any level at the college ranks.

What do you see in this Minooka team for Friday night?

No weaknesses. A great head coach with over 30 years of experience, 17 to 18 returning starters, balanced offense with a great QB, a great receiving group, backs, big and athletic O line. The defense is the best we will have seen by far. They just shut out a very fast and athletic PN team. We have our work cut out for us. Lets hope the forecast changes. Really excited for the challenge!

What do you feel is your strongest trait on the field?

I would say Poise/Confidence, a QB can never be too high and never too low.
