Giuseppe Maffei St. Viator Kicker Class Of 2020

Giuseppe Maffei how has your season been so far?

It has been great!

I have been very successful

How has your performance been?

Overall, I am happy with my performance. I execute my tasks when asked to with accuracy.

What schools have you talked to so far?

I have talked with University of Wisconsin-Madison, Purdue University, and Rose-Hulman University.

What should college coaches know about you?

College coaches should know that I am a STEM scholar, I have a 4.0 GPA, I am in the 3 hardest AP classes that my school offers, and I am an extremely hard working, team player and I never stop practicing until I have reached my goal.

What has been your favorite memory so far this season?

My favorite memory so far in this season is scoring in overtime against Marian Central Catholic because of how important the kick was in winning the game.

Worst game field condition that you ever kicked in?

The worst game field condition that I have ever kicked in was at Lodi High School in Wisconsin. The field was grass which was 5 inches tall and wet. My plant foot literally sank into the grass. Also, the field was completely uneven to where I could not see the other sideline.

What does football mean to you?

I played soccer for 13 years of my life at the highest level of play and I never loved it as much as football. Football means family and fighting with and for your brothers to reach the goal of winning the game. I had to make the decision of soccer or football for my junior year and I chose football because I had a different experience. Football is team based whereas soccer is player based. The roar of the spectators, the lights, and the vibe that I feel right before that kick are unparalleled. After every practice and game the team ends the huddle with “Family” and that is what football means to me.

Remember Deep Dish Football Is Just Not About Recruiting But About The Love Of The Game Of IHSA Football
