So in a way to better understand the use of Deep Dish Football for lllinois recruits and the whole entire IHSA Football scene. Decided to do player profiles of players who you might not know or you might know , but you should respect them for their roles on their respective teams. Every Football Player Has A Story To Tell
John Walsh Benet Class of 2020 DB 5'10 185
John Walsh 4-0 for Benet.. How good can this Benet team be?
I think this benet team can be as good, if not better than the 2017 or 2016 teams that made it to the semi finals. Our team seems to be improving each and every week and there’s still a lot of room for improvement. I think sky is the limit for this team.
What has been your favorite memory so far?
I think beating Naperville North at their place has been my favorite memory. We haven’t played a Naperville public school at my time at Benet so it was cool to go out there and play them. The game seemed to be over at the end of the first half, but Naperville North came back towards the end to make the game interesting. Great opening game for us to get a big win.
What goal do you have for yourself this season?
My goal is too just help my team win games. I hurt my hamstring a week before game 1 so that has taken me out of the first three games. I hope now to just be productive and play to the best of my ability.
What does Benet football mean to you?
Benet football means everything to me. School and football have occupied majority of my time in high school. My teammates and I have been committed to work hard in the off season to be the best we can. All of that time spent has been for one goal: win a state championship. Also, I have created friendships that will last a lifetime and I couldn’t be more grateful for that.
What schools have you talked to so far?
Hillsdale College in Michigan and some D3 schools like Rochester and Claremont McKenna
What should college coaches know about you?
I will do anything to help the team win. I can play on either side of the ball. I am extremely hard working in the weight room, on the field, and in the classroom.
Whats your go to pregame meal?
The go to pregame meal for the entire team is a jimmy johns sandwich, chips, and an apple.
