Dane Williams Woodstock North ATH Class of 2020 5'9 165

Dane Williams how has your first 3 weeks been so far?
Extremely tough. I’ve been sidelined for the last three weeks due to a reoccurring hamstring injury. However, I’m glad to say that I will be returning this week against Woodstock. It’s just been really tough watching my team and not being out there with them. I’m very excited to finally get back on the field with my brothers and compete with them side by side.
What does this Woodstock game mean to you?
A lot. However I treat every game, no matter what the stakes are, just like any other game. This game means a lot to our community and to our team but I want to make sure my team and I both treat it like any other game to ensure that we play to the best of our ability and come out with a win. This also means a lot because for our seniors, it is one of the last games we will be playing against Woodstock. We play them again later in the season but it is still one of the last times we will be playing against our Woodstock buddies.
What does football mean to you?
Football is truly one of the things I love the most. There isn’t a single time i’m on the field that I don’t enjoy being on it. Even when we have to practice on the hottest day of the summer or the coldest day in October, football always finds a way to make me feel happy and welcome. I just love playing football and more importantly, playing it with my friends that I’ve been playing with since 6th grade.
What do you see in this Woodstock team on film?
At first glance, we noticed they are a pass heavy team. They definitely like to throw more than run. They also have a really good quarterback. I’ve been playing against and with Purkey for a while and he’s by far one of the best in the area, as is our quarterback, Ryan Zinnen. We truly have felt horrible for Ryan because he tore his ACL in the Antioch game and was definitely going to be our main playmaker this whole season. He always makes the right play and is truly one of the best quarterbacks in the area.
Any funny Coach Schroeder stories?
None that come to the top of my head, there are a lot. However, he is a really good coach and definitely knows how to treat his players right. I’m definitely glad that I’ve gotten the opportunity to be coached by him and all the other coaches at Woodstock North.
Whats your go to pregame meal?
Definitely some type of pasta. That always gives me the energy and it tases really good too.
