Amari Hampton how was your 2018 season?
It did not go as expected we took three tough losses 1 to an out of state opponent , 1 to Simeon, and 1 to Cary-Groove in the quarterfinals. Individually I feel as if I had a strong season and one of my personal best ever.
What schools have you talked to so far?
I’ve been in contact with: University of South Dakota,University of North Dakota, University of Southern Illinois, University of Chicago, and Air Force
What should college coaches know about you?
Coaches should know that I am a coachable player with a strong passion for the game. Also that I am willing to do whatever is necessary to win and improve, on the field and off. Coaches should know that I hold a 4.1GPA !
What do you like about playing linebacker?
I like that when playing linebacker I am always involved in the defensive some how , some way. Also being a linebacker you get to experience a lot of Defensive Line work which I pride myself on.
What motivates a Amari Hampton?
A Challenge. Challenges motivate me to push and grind harder. I want to be the best and in order to be the best , you have to beat the best.
What game are you excited the most about in this upcoming season?
Week 1 Cass Tech. I’ve heard a lot about them and they present a challenge to my brothers and I. Also Simeon, every year it is a fun atmosphere. We lost last year and ended the streak, we want to get that back.
If you had the power to schedule one game against Phillips.... Who would it be and why?
I would definitely want to play Loyola again because they are the defending 8A Champs
