Reilly Corken Batavia Class of 2020 Linebacker 6'2 190

Reilly Corken how was your 2018 season?

The season went pretty well. Our team finished 12-1 with a deep run into the playoffs and an unfortunate loss to the later state champs.

What part of your game have you been working on in the offseason?

After getting cleared from a prior injury, I have been working with a special trainer that has trained with my fellow teammates such as: Michael Jansey, Matthew Weerts, and Luke Weerts. Building my speed and agility along with gaining lean muscle mass has been my main focus.

Batavia has had a great lineage of linebackers, What does that mean to you?

It has been an honor to precede my fellow LBU brothers that I have played with. These guys have been great role models of how I need to play on the field. This upcoming season, there are some big shoes to fill, but I know that I’m ready to fill this role.

What would you like college coaches to know about you?

College coaches should know that on the field I am a very aggressive player, yet I know where to be and my knowledge for the game is at a high level. I am dedicated and love the sport of football, and I always strive to push myself and others to achieve the highest level of success.

What goal do you have for yourself this season?

In this upcoming season, I want to help lead the defense and the team to a state championship. Additionally, I want to build upon the lockdown reputation that our defense has had over the past several of years. Also, my goal is also to make Academic All-Conference again.

We have a poetry contest with all the Batavia football coaches.... Who wins and why?

Coach Holm hands down. No offense to the other coaches, but he is quite philosophic compared to them. A close runner up would probably be Coach Lester, as he is one of the best English Teachers.
