Ke'Vaughn Gaines how was your 2018 season?
As a team we didn’t do that well we went 1-8 I know football isn’t a individual sport but I think I did well I started at Z WR and got moved to X WR later on in the season. I didn’t accomplish as much as I wanted this year but it was improvement from sophomore year.
What schools have you talked to so far?
I’ve got Jr day invites from Missouri Baptist, Monmouth, Augustana, Sioux Falls, and I’ve talked with SIU
What would you like college coaches to know about you?
I love the game of football, I’m very aggressive on the field, I’m coachable, and I’m most importantly a team player
What excites you the most of this upcoming season?
We recently hired a new head coach Mike Harrison from Mckendree and since he has been there it has been a different vibe throughout the team compared to past years. I also am excited for our offense I feel like we’ll have one of the best receiving cores in our conference and we have a solid mobile quarterback with a nice arm Lucas Maue
What goal do you have for yourself this upcoming season?
A big one is being a senior leader for my team and one of my most important goals I set for myself as a freshman is to make one of the all conference teams before it’s all said and done
What do you like about playing WR?
As a receiver it’s always fun to make a big catch or score but what gets me going is the blocking I love the physicality of it. Also it’s good to watch your other teammates make big plays knowing your block helped them make it
Who are some players I should keep an eye out for from BTHS East this upcoming season?
Like I mentioned before we’ll have a nice WR core with Yogi Flagger Elijah Nelson Kameron Sloan who will all be seniors next year and junior Jaylen Ford . Also keep an eye out for our QB Lucas Maue who will be a junior next year he hasn’t had much varsity experience but I feel like next year he’s going to be somebody who gets a lot of attention around here
