Perrion McClinton Class of 2021 QB/ATH Loyola Academy

Perrion McClinton how was your 2018 season?

My 2018 season was fantastic. I grew a lot on the field as a quarterback and in my knowledge of the game. I was able to take on a leadership role and help our team compete at a high level. I’m very proud of the success we had last season.

Favorite memory of last season?

This past season my favorite memory would have to be being apart of a state championship team. It didn’t matter whether you were on the field or not, everyone had a part in helping win

What would you like college coaches to know about you?

I would like coaches to know that I constantly strive to be a humble leader. I am determined to always get better on and off the field and I know that there is always work to be done. I have always shown my ability to be resilient and face adversity in every aspect of my life. I don’t just consider myself an athlete but like to think of myself as a true student athlete, as I know that academics, service, and community are all important parts of playing sports at any level, especially at the collegiate level.

What part of your game have you been working on in the offseason to better yourself for the upcoming season?

I’ve been working consistently on my footwork and throwing mechanics to improve my accuracy.

What do you like about playing QB?

I’ve always played Quarterback since I was young. I like being able to help my teammates with my actions on the field. I like reading the field and completing plays. I like the adrenaline that comes with being a QB but I also like being able to use my ability to stay calm under pressure. I also enjoy building trust all of my teammates on the field, from the O-Line to the Running Backs.

What goal do you have for yourself this upcoming season?

There are very talent players at Loyola, especially at the quarterback position. So my goal is to become the starting quarterback as a junior, and led us back to state.

Favorite route to pass to?

There are some many routes to choose from, but my personal favorite is either a Post or Comeback route.
