Dexter Stigall how was your 2018 season?
The 2018 season was very successful for the entire program and we are just getting started. We had a lot of ups and downs throughout the season, but at the end we pulled through to win the city championship. As my first year of being the starting Quarterback I had a lot of responsibility. By far my favorite football season ever.
What schools have you talked to?
The schools that I have talked to is NIU and UIndy so far but there is many more to come.
What should college coaches know about you?
I was born a leader, and i have very good work ethic. I have been playing football my whole life and it has made me a better person on and off the field.
What part of your game have you been working on in the offseason?
The part of my game i have been working on the most is ball security and keeping my eyes down the field wile scrambling or the pocket breaking down. I have been training since the season has ended and I will be sure on perfecting it.
Funniest memory of your 2018 season?
Funniest memory of this season was very time we would force a turnover we would have the person that caused the turnover grab the caveman club and swing it around and scream as loud as they can.
What position do you feel most comfortable in?
I feel very comfortable at Quarterback. With the coaching staff that we as a team have not only have they made me a quarterback being very natural easy for me but many other of my teammates can feel the same way. Going through summer camp and the last off season we had I feel like I am a better quarterback then I ever thought I would be.
What game are you most looking forward to this upcoming season?
The game I am looking forward to is are season opener. With the team getting a brand new stadium I feel like as a team we are going to have a lot of responsibility on continuing a winning season and that will start by winning the first game.
Biggest misconception about Taft Football?
The biggest missconseption about Taft’s football program Is that people think we are just a regular city school and we don’t have talent. Teams think about us very lightly and don’t take us serious. I have seen some the great talent in taft high school and winning the city championship shows that we are becoming a better program then we were years ago.
