Meet Plano's Big Man 6'7 Offensive Lineman Alec Sheehy Class Of 2020 Talking Reaper Football

So in a way to better understand the use of Deep Dish Football for Illinois recruits and the whole entire IHSA Football scene. Decided to do player profiles of players who you might not know or you might know , but you should respect them for their roles on their respective teams

Alec Sheehy Plano OL Class of 2020 6'7 280

Alec Sheehy how was your 2018 season?

Definitely much better than the last season. For me personally, I was a bit nervous from seeing very little of the varsity field as a sophomore going into my junior year, but once the first play started I could already tell that I have immensely improved and was ready for whatever came at me. For the team as a whole, making it to the playoffs after a bit of a rough patch with our previous 3-6 season made me very proud of the hard work my teammates and I put in on the off season to get there.

What schools have you talked to?

So far I have met coaches from South Dakota State and Illinois State at school. I have also talked with coaches at Western Illinois University at their football camps. Many other schools have contacted me via text and email as well.

What should college coaches know about you?

I would consider myself a hard working person and I definitely put the team’s success over my own personal gain

How does Plano look for 2019?

Plano is looking very strong this upcoming season. We have many returning starters, a lot are 3 year starters or have had plenty of playing time at the varsity level when they were sophomores. Our new conference is not going to be a cake-walk but I believe we can take on the challenge

What will you miss about the Interstate 8?

The only one I can think of off the top of my head at the moment is when he semi-concussed himself at practice when tackling a dummy without any gear.

I guess he just felt like demonstrating that day

Who are some Plano players I should keep an eye out for in 2019?

I would keep an eye out for Cam Ward, Drew Chernick, Keegan Cullison, Gabe and Uri Rodriguez, and Nate Jernigan

What have you been doing in the offseason to better yourself for 2019?

I have been hitting the weight room with my team after school, as well as in our weight lifting class. Track season started this week as well, so I’ll be working on my strength and coordination throwing shotput and discus
