Neuqua Valley's Playmaker Sean Larkin Class Of 2020 Talks Recruiting & Upcoming Season

So in a way to better understand the use of Deep Dish Football for Illinois recruits and the whole entire IHSA Football scene. Decided to do player profiles of players who you might not know or you might know , but you should respect them for their roles on their respective teams

Sean Larkin Neuqua Valley Class of 2020 ATH 6'0 185

Sean Larkin how was the Boom Showcase for you Sunday?

Overall it was a great experience! There was a ton of great competition there, and I enjoyed going up against the top guys in my class. I felt good about 1 on 1s, and I felt like I got a lot of great reps

How was your 2018 season?

The season didn’t end the way the we wanted it to as a team, but overall as a team I felt like we had a great year even though we lost in the first round of the playoffs to a very tough team. As an individual I felt like I had a pretty good year. I was able to play both sides of the ball but I mainly played receiver. I felt bigger and stronger, and I felt that I caught the ball very well. I look forward to this coming season!

What schools have you talked to so far?

As of now the only schools that have really shown interest have been Western Illinois, Illinois State, Princeton, and Harvard. Over the summer at camps I also talked with Cornell, Cincy, and Western Michigan.

What parts of your game are you working on in the offseason?

In the off-season I really want to just get as fast as possible. I train at Acceleration with JR Niklos and Mike Niklos and they have really helped me a lot. I also want to work on getting off the ball better, and using my hands.

How good can this Neuqua Valley squad be this season?

I think that we will be a lot better than people think. On the offensive side we are returning tons of starters. On the defensive side we are losing a few key guys, but we also have some guys that can fill those shoes. Overall we will have a very solid team next year.

How good is that Waubonsie Valley game going to be?

I think it will be a great game. Every year the Neuqua Waubonsie game is a fun one! It will be a very important game for both teams, and I look forward to competing!

What goal do you have for yourself this season?

I really just want to be the best teammate and leader that I can be. My main goal though is to win as many games as possible this season, and to go as far into the playoffs as possible.

Who is a player on Neuqua Valley that no one is talking about, but should be?

There are a lot of underrated players at Neuqua, but I think people should start to look out for Garret Stare. He plays receiver and played varsity last year as a sophomore.
