So in a way to better understand the use of Deep Dish Football for Illinois recruits and the whole entire IHSA Football scene. Decided to do player profiles of players who you might not know or you might know , but you should respect them for their roles on their respective teams
Jake Smith QB/ATH Canton Class of 2020 6'3 205
Jake Smith how was your 2018 season?
It was a learning experience for our whole team. We had a lot of young guys playing, it was not the outcome that we wanted but it better prepared us for this upcoming football season
How good can this Canton team for 2019?
We can surprise a lot of people this year but it all starts in the weight room and during the summer. We have to work as a team to accomplish our goal
Favorite memory from last season?
My favorite memory from last season was watching my teammates play Dunlap. I was not able to play that game because of a injury but watching my teammates battle against a playoff team, on that cold, rainy, and muddy night was exciting for me.
What should college coaches know about you?
I can play both sides of the ball and I am a good leader.
What does football mean to you?
Football means a lot to me, ever since I was a little kid I had a football in my hand and watching it with my dad. My family is a big football family and that makes me love it even more.
Who is a Canton player we should keep an eye out for thats going to surprise people?
Micah Barnhart and Jacob Waskow, some people already know them but they are going to make an even bigger impact on our team this year.
Who is the funniest Canton player on the team?
Jacob Waskow always has jokes that he tells that gets the team to laugh. Even though they are bad jokes.
