So in a way to better understand the use of Deep Dish Football for Illinois recruits and the whole entire IHSA Football scene. Decided to do player profiles of players who you might not know or you might know , but you should respect them for their roles on their respective teams
Tommy Coates De La Salle Class of 2019 WR 6'2 170
Tommy Coates how was your season?
It was a great season! It was very fun playing and spending time with my brothers. We had 8 wins this season which hasn’t been done in a while here at De La Salle. We didn’t make the playoffs like we expected to but stuff happens and we had a good run in the prep bowl. Also it was cool to see me along with two of my other teammates break school records.
What does De La Salle football mean to you?
De La Salle football means so much to me. I am so grateful to have had the chance to play with my brothers throughout the years. Also I am grateful for having great people like Coach Boehm and the rest of the coaching staff for helping me and guiding me. It was an honor to play football for De La Salle and De La Salle football will always have a special place in my heart.
What would you like college coaches to know about you?
I want college coaches to know that I am very athletic and can play wideout or slot receiver. Also that I am unselfish and care about winning more than my stats.
What schools have you talked to?
A lot of schools came to the school to talk to me. But I have talked to Northern Michigan, North Central, Grand Valley State, UW-Whitewater, and Minnesota State Moorhead mostly.
What is your favorite route to run?
Definitely a jump ball so a one step fade
Toughest DB you went up against this season?
I would say Kempton from St. Rita
Give me some young De La Salle players to be on the lookout for next season?
Matt Byrnes, Jason Moore, and Aidan Ralph
