Niklos San Miguel how has your season been so far for you?
For myself it has been great, being out with the team and working with them on the practice field has been amazing, this is by far my favorite season I have played on so far
You guys seem like a tight knit team.. What do you attribute that to?
The off-season work we all put in and just all of us being close friends for years, it really helps us play as a team
What does Marengo football mean to you?
Marengo football means everything to me, I have been playing since I was 12 I think, and I just love going out there and working my hardest with the team
What do you see as the biggest challenge with ICCP football?
The biggest challenge for us I say is containing their running game, if we stay disciplined and play to our full potential I think we should be alright
t seems like when you guys loss during the season, you guys only got better the game after. Thoughts?
Oh for sure, coach Forsythe has told us that it’s only going to get harder, and he challenged us, the seniors and even the juniors took that challenge and we played every game with intensity and heart. He talks about beating our best self and that’s what we have been doing, and that’s why we are in the position we are now
Who is one Marengo player I should be keeping an eye out for Saturday?
That’s a hard question, we have skill at every position, the players I say to keep an eye out is Blake Heinberg (Linebacker), Travis Knaak (QB) , and Finn Schirmer (Running Back) I hate to leave out everyone else but definitely keep an eye out for the defensive line also.
What has been your favorite memory so far this season?
That’s also a hard question, I would have to dim it down to winning the KRC, that made us feel really good overall as a team, us winning the KRC meant everything to me as a player and I think I can speak for the team also, we worked really hard to win the whole thing and winning that and celebrating it was very memorable
