Class Of 2019 Running Back Gibson City's Jared Trantina Talks Falcons Football & Playoff Dri

So in a way to better understand the use of Deep Dish Football for Illinois recruits and the whole entire IHSA Football scene. Decided to do player profiles of players who you might not know or you might know , but you should respect them for their roles on their respective teams

Jared Trantina Gibson City RB Class of 2019 5'8 200

Jared Trantina you guys have been on a roll... What do you attribute that to?

It’s definitely all of the hard work in the off season, our very intelligent coaches who put us in the best position to succeed, and our ability to come together as a team.

Talking about that, how committed is Gibson City to the weight room?

I believe without a doubt that we outwork most if not all of the teams in the state. We lift almost every day and most of the time it’s before the competition is even waking up. Our team knows that lifting and all the sacrifices we make will give us the confidence we need when we step onto the field. We have great workout facilities in our community. Our players love lifting just as much as playing the game of football.

Favorite memory so far this season?

Favorite memory this season has been beating Chicago Hope 31-7. Everyone kept saying that we don’t play anyone and that our schedule is weak. It was awesome to show everyone what we could do to a good team that has beaten and played with some good 6a schools.

Toughest player you went up against this season?

Definitely, Chicago Hope’s QB he had great size and the ability to run and break tackles.

What does football mean to you?

It has been a huge part of my life and will continue to be as I grow older. I have been playing it since 3rd grade and have built many friendships along the way.

So what do you see in this Newman Central Catholic team?

Their program has been very successful, always producing good teams. They have some good athletes and are disciplined. It will be a good game!

Give me a younger Gibson City player I should be on the look out for?

Aidan Laughery for sure. He is a very talented kid who works hard. He excels at track and football. He’s a guy who is super fast and a big time play maker.
