Deep Dish Football Playoff Game Of The Week Player Spotlight: Prairie Ridge's ATH/QB Connor Lydo

So in a way to better understand the use of Deep Dish Football for Illinois recruits and the whole entire IHSA Football scene. Decided to do player profiles of players who you might not know or you might know , but you should respect them for their roles on their respective teams.

Connor Lydon Class of 2020 QB/ATH Prairie Ridge 6'0 170

Connor Lydon how has your season been so far?

It has been great. Playing the game I love with my brothers. We still have lots of work to do.

Favorite memory this season?

Our game at Waubonsie Valley got stopped on Friday night due to the weather. We came back the next morning with 9 minutes left in the 4th quarter and Jackson Willis broke a long run to put us ahead. Then our defense had a great stop on a 2 point conversion to win the game. It was a great win for our team.

What do you see in this Hinsdale South defense?

Fast across the board, pursue well to the ball. Have talent to make big plays.

Starting Week 1 to now, What improvements have you seen in your game?

The mental side of my game. I know what play to run based off what the defense is giving me. Playing a tough fox valley schedule and being exposed to multiple defenses has helped a lot with that.

What would you like college coaches to know about you?

I am a leader who leads by example. I am always striving to be the best. Whether that’s on the field, in the classroom, or in the weight room, I’m going to push myself and my teammates to be the best that we can be.

Funniest guy on the Prairie Ridge team?

Daniel Faccone. Always knows how to get a laugh out of someone.

What does football mean to you?

Football is much more than just a game. Football has instilled traits into me and shaped me into who I am today. The sport has allowed me to create friendships with my teammates and coaches that will last forever.

Remember Deep Dish Football Is Just Not About Recruiting But About The Love Of The Game Of Football In The IHSA
