So in a way to better understand the use of Deep Dish Football for Illinois recruits and the whole entire IHSA Football scene. Decided to do player profiles of players who you might not know or you might know , but you should respect them for their roles on their respective teams.

Nico Uriarte Oak Lawn Class of 2019 Linebacker 6'0 202

Nico Uriarte how has your season been so far?

This season so far has been a welcoming challenge. Moving to a new position, my Senior year, I had to push myself more in the offseason. Wrestling prepared me, my hard work has been paying off.

Favorite memory so far from this season?

Beating Marian Catholic the first game of the season. It showed how much we wanted to win and we had to go through a lot of adversity that game but we still got the job done.

What does Oak Lawn football mean to you?

t means the world to me. Oak Lawn Football taught me to be the “Hammer” to lead by example. Coach Novak teaches us life lessons that will give us both knowledge we can use on and off the field. Oak Lawn football is my heart, I am very proud of my school and the direction our program is headed.

What would you like college coaches to know about you?

That I am a true Leader. I am a three sport Captain, I bring that intensity that is contagious. I love the competition, I give 110% always.

What motivates a Nico Uriarte?

My family, I am the oldest of 5. I have always been involved in travel baseball and football. I feel a deep obligation to meet the sacrifices done for me to play the game I love. Nothing makes my Mom and Grandma prouder when I have a good game. I am the oldest to wear Uriarte on my jersey and I know to represent it. I appreciate all the time my Coaches put into teaching a talent. I feel it’s my job to show that same passion in return. Coach Novak deserves a playoff season.

Who on the Oak Lawn team should I keep an eye out for?

Nick Puente, He has some real heart. We feed off each other because we have the same goal. We are TPW- Tough People Win. He is our RB and he is the real deal, I love going to war with him on my team.

What would you tell incoming Oak Lawn football players about the program?

Now that I am a Senior and more mature I appreciate OLCHS football so much more than I did as a Sophomore . I would say to just embrace it all even those hot summer practices, those are where bonds are really made. All Coaches are truly there to better you as a player and a man. To have real Oak Lawn Honor, Protect the Lawn and be accountable. I will be back at Oak Lawn one day, to Coach under Coach Novak is a goal.

Remember Deep Dish Football Is Just Not About Recruiting But About The Love Of The Game Of Football In The IHSA
