So in a way to better understand the use of Deep Dish Football for Illinois recruits and the whole entire IHSA Football scene. Decided to do player profiles of players who you might not know or you might know , but you should respect them for their roles on their respective teams.

Flo Ramirez Class of 2019 DT 5'9 210 Nazareth

Flo Ramirez how good can this Nazareth team be?

I think we have the potential to be one of the best teams in the state. We have such a good bond with each other and we also have such great athletes. We still have so much room for improvement. Sky is the limit for us.

How has the season been for you so far?

The season has been going very well. I have been getting rotational reps on the defensive line. As well as playing special teams.

What do you see in this Marist team that you think will be tough on you guys?

They have very good skill players, as well as an athletic OL. They are also very well coached. It should be a very interesting match up between us.

What does Nazareth football mean to you?

Nazareth football means family , tradition and hard work to me. Coach Racki has instilled in us from the very first day that everything is earned, never given. He gets us ready for the world outside of the football field. All the coaches are like father figures to us. They will discipline us when we need it, but they will also be there to give us a hug when we need it as well. Nazareth football has a very proud tradition. From being everyone’s homecoming game to competing for a state championship every year is not easy. We are in the spot we are today because of the players that wore the jersey before us. They laid the foundation for us and it is our job to continue to build on that foundation.

Favorite memory so far from the season?

My favorite memory so far has been running routes and guarding the linemen as if we were skill players before every practice.

What does playing on the defensive line mean to you?

Playing on the defensive line means getting bloody knuckles and being willing to take a beating so your linebackers can make tackles. We do not want the credit when we win, we want the credit when we lose. It also means being able to love each other as linemen. For example, I have created a life long friendship with the boys I’ve played with. I know they have my back and they know I have theirs.
