Aurora Christian's Linebacker Julian Jaimes Class Of 2019 Talks Season & Goals

So in a way to better understand the use of Deep Dish Football for Illinois recruits and the whole entire IHSA Football scene. Decided to do player profiles of players who you might not know or you might know , but you should respect them for their roles on their respective teams.

Julian Jaimes Aurora Christian LB Class of 2019 5'11 205

Julian Jaimes how is your season going so far for you?

It’s going great, it’s my senior year and it’s my 3rd year starting on the varsity team as a linebacker. Everything is going as planned, I’m coming off an ankle injury from a football camp and it’s still swollen but I’m playing on it. We’re 4-0 and I have a total of about 34 tackles and 2 sacks this season, it’s going great.

What has been your favorite memory so far this season?

My favorite memory so far this season is our win against Urban Prep Bronzeville. We faced a D1 Quarterback Jeremiah Wiggins I think his name was and he kneeled during the anthem and didn’t shake our hands and our defense made him throw 3 picks and he got sacked multiple times and I sacked him with my brother which was my favorite part of the game.

How good can this Aurora Christian team be?

We have a lock down Defense and that’s what I can say. Our offense we have a very good replacement for Drew clippert, which is Ethan Hampton. He’s broken the most touchdowns in a single game record and our Wide receiver Caleb Beebe tied most touchdowns record for a receiver (School records). As for our defense, I’m now in the top 10 tacklers in my school records and our safety Trey tied record for most picks in a game which was 3. Our defense is great and our offense is too putting a lot of points on the board. We got tested against Riverside Brookfield and they figured us out and came out with a formation they didn’t run on film and it was a tight game 6-2. Our defense and offense will get seriously tested this week against ICCP.

What would you like college coaches to know about you?

I’m willing to do anything for the team no matter what, any position and spot they think I’m best at I’ll do. Im a team player and not selfish. I’m a hard worker and I’m aggressive and a smart football player.

What is one misconception of Aurora Christian Football that people have?

“Their 1A, they are not that good.” I’ve heard people say “all schools from the aurora area post game day and act like west aurora won’t bust them.” It irritates me that people say that because we’re not bad at all. Just because we’re 1A we have a great defense of squad that can stop some 8A schools no problem.

What motivates a Julian Jaimes?

Honestly, not even trying to be cliche here, but my family does. Everything I see my family go through just to get enrolled into this school. Seeing my brother work hard as ever makes me want to work double compared to him. Looking at my past at where I came from, where I started to become the football player I am now. The stress and the problems pushes me day by day and that’s what drives me and motivates each practice and each game. The love I have for my family helps grow the passion I play with for football.
